How to set up a wallet

We guide you on how to set up a wallet.

Decentralized Finance (DeFi) gives you complete ownership of your cryptocurrency. As the popular saying goes, "Not your keys, not your coins," your funds are held in a wallet that you manage and control. It is important to follow safety practices to secure your assets:

  • Never share your recovery phrases with anyone, regardless of the circumstances.

  • Avoid inputting your recovery phrase to any website or app, except your wallet app when importing your wallet on a new device.

  • Be cautious of fake websites, scams, or other malicious acts.

  • Only download and install the latest wallet version from official sources.

  • Carefully follow the setup guides for your preferred wallet.

  • Safely back up your recovery phrases, ideally somewhere offline.

MetaMask

MetaMask is a widely-used wallet plugin that operates through a browser. It offers default support for Ethereum and has the ability to add other Ethereum-compatible blockchains like BNB Chain from Binance, Avalanche, and Polygon manually. Moreover, MetaMask is compatible with hardware wallets like Ledger and Trezor.

Trust Wallet

Trust Wallet is a well-known mobile wallet that comes preconfigured with several blockchain networks and includes a built-in DApp Browser for ease of use. Although it is user-friendly, it may not offer the same level of customization as MetaMask.
